This was probably the biggest out of the Space/science fiction micro machines. They were promoting Episode 1, so you had the Star Wars boom going on.
As with marketing, you had the original star wars being promoted along with the new episodes that were coming out.
So when Galoob put them out there, they put some good stuff out there!

I bought all the series I could find, but then the Phantom Menace had some as well. I had to buy some of the playsets because some of the ships were exclusive to those sets.
I got all the ships, which made me happy as a collection.
