2015 Star Wars Micro Machines!!!
I was at Target last week noticed all the new Star Wars stuff being promoted. Often times, I like to look at what toys are out there.
I couldn't believe when I saw the New Star Wars Mirco machines!!! There were single blind bags, 3 vehicle packs @ $4.99 and 5 vehicle packs for $9.99.
So I looked up every vehicle piece in the series and I knew what I wanted. Obviously, some of the older ones, I didn't want, it would be basically repeats.
But the New ships for the movies, I had to get!!! Sorry the video was sideways.
Again, they brought ships from the previous movies such as the Original Star Wars, but also movies that never got the Micro Machine love such as this pack!!
I then looked at each of the these big packs and the normal 3 vehicle packs.
the first pack included these.
I was sorely disappointed with Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle (as I show in the video) which show the quality of these. I micro machines from before are not as rubbery.
Resistance X wing and Luggabeast in the pack as well.
This set had Poe Dameron's X wing, a First Order Special forces Tie fighter and First Order Star Destroyer with damage. The star destroyer looks different from the original star destroyers.
Alright, this set is from Attack of the Clones!!!
Slave 1, Republic Gunship and Obi Wan Kenobi's Jedi Starfighter
This pack of ships is from the "Inquisitor's Hunt".
The Ghost, The Inquisitor’s TIE Advanced, and The Phantom Attack Shuttle
The last pack I got was this pack. From the Force Awakens movie
Jakku Landspeeder, First Order Transporter, and Rey’s Speeder (Jakku)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All the other packs are are not interesting to me at this time, but might spring for them, just avoiding doubles.
As I pointed out in the video, quality seems to be somewhat lower. The ships appear to be somewhat flimsy. the packaging seems really cheap too, compared to before and the back of the packages are generic with the actual information of the ships tucked in the right corner. These are sharp contrasts to the previous packaging and ships from the 90's.
Additionally I noticed something about this ship, the Tantive IV, which in the older micro machine series was called the Rebel Blockade runner. This new incarnation is smaller than the original.
But as they say, Beggars can't be choosers. I welcome back the mirco machine series as it makes me feel like a teenager again!
LET'S HOPE THERE IS MORE TO COME!!!! PLEASE HASBRO!!!!!

Star Wars Epic Collections Micro Machines
So not only did Galoob put out the vehicles from the movies, but the also had a few novels.
I was able to find 3 of the "Epic Collections" series. But I was pissed to find out that again, towards the end, Galoob had released 3 other sets that were not plentiful, which eventually made them rare. I found out through the Star Wars micro machine history (http://www.starwars.com/news/think-big-play-small-the-history-of-star-wars-micro-machines-part-1)
You can see I have the vehicles from Epic collections 1-3 my Star Wars micro machines videos.
But let me put them out here too.
I was able to find these at the time. I thought I had every single one because when I looked on the back, I only saw the 3 sets.
It wasn't til I believe it was discontinued or the license was up that I found out about the other 3, so I searched every where and couldn't find them. I was pissed. It also made me think they probably released it to a certain market or maybe even limited and halted due to what ever reason they stopped selling. Turns out, they were released in the UK only.
And the thing that makes me mad.. they are cool ships. The other thing that makes me even more issed about it... people are selling all 3 for around $500. Even individuals ships are outrageous ($60-80). I have yet to stomach that kind of money for a tiny ship. As much as I would love to have them, that is just way too much.
But let's take a look at them!
I only cared about getting ships, which is Tafanda Bay and the Expanded B Wing
Damn it. I love the Scmitar assault bomber and the Coral Vanda
And finally the Mon Remonda and
Hapes Nova Battle Cruiser

Original Star Wars Micro Machines
This was probably the biggest out of the Space/science fiction micro machines. They were promoting Episode 1, so you had the Star Wars boom going on.
As with marketing, you had the original star wars being promoted along with the new episodes that were coming out.
So when Galoob put them out there, they put some good stuff out there!
Here is my collection
I bought all the series I could find, but then the Phantom Menace had some as well. I had to buy some of the playsets because some of the ships were exclusive to those sets.
I got all the ships, which made me happy as a collection.
Let me get into the Star Wars epic collections in the next post.

My Star Trek Micro Machines
I remember seeing this big packs with exclusive ships at FAO Swartz. That is what started my craze. I would go on and pick up all the big sets and then started to focus on the small packs.
My collection
Again, same story. I probably came at the tail end of the license because they discontinued them shortly after, which I couldn't understand.
While I got the big packs and small 3 vehicle packs, the final 3 packs were the most rare. I scoured many shops that would carry them and found 1 of the 2 I needed. The last pack being the rare "Bajoran Sailing Ship", which can be found on Ebay for ATLEAST $100 (bastards!!!)
This is the final 3 vehicle pack in the series.
The 2 other ships can be found in the big box sets.
But Sisko's Bajoran Sailing Vessel is exclusive to this pack! I hated that.
XV Star trek pack
While I just need this ship to complete my set, I just can't justify buying it for $100
The XVI pack, came with 2 ships that were exclusive to the 3 vehicle packs compared to the big packs.
The Array and Kazon Torpedo
Each of the big packs had an exclusive ship too, I believe some could be found in either single packs or in 3 vehicle packs.

My Babylon 5 Collection
I love the series and I loved how the fight scenes were with the ships.
I scored big time because I believe I started collecting at the tail end, maybe license was expiring. I was able to snag all of them, then they suddenly disappeared!!
Here is my video
Note: the Purple ship in the front is actually part of Star Trek.
As from what was available then, I got all of them. It sucked to hear they discontinued them because there were a few other awesome designed ships that should have came out!!!
While I've gotten all of them, it would be nice to see more ships. Plus it was a good series too!

I love Micro machines and my collection
I always loved micro machines. I had tons of small cars and even the knock offs. I then gave it away (damn it) to a cousin.
Additionally, I was a huge space ship fan, so I loved Red Dwarf, Star Trek (all of them), Star Wars (yes, even episode 1 with annoying characters), Babylon 5 (was awesome) and Farscape (actually my favorite).
In the mid to late 90's, Galoob put out the space series. I believe I came at the tail end of it (I was a teenager and didn't pay attention to toys).
Initially, they put out their own ships, very generic looking. But a few packs.
But then they stepped it up. This is when it got awesome.
They came out with Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5 and even some movies such as Alien and Terminator I believe.
As soon as I saw them, I spent my hard earned Domino's pizza money on them. Remember, minimum wage was $4.90 back then!
---------------------------------------------------
I was able to get many of them. I had the complete Babylon 5 set. I have most of the Star Trek except for 1 ship. and Star Wars, I got most, except the last of the "book series".
I will explain in the proper posts.
